Commercial Fire Risk Assessment Quotes

A commercial fire risk assessment reviews how people could be harmed by fire in a workplace or non-domestic premises, then records the precautions and actions needed to keep people safe.

Who this is for

Commercial fire risk assessment enquiries usually come from employers, landlords, property managers, facilities teams, schools, care homes, hotels, offices, factories, warehouses and retail operators.

Legal basis

GOV.UK says the responsible person for business or other non-domestic premises can include the employer, owner, landlord, occupier, facilities manager, building manager or managing agent. The responsible person must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment, put in place appropriate fire safety measures, plan for emergencies and provide staff information and training.

For shared premises, more than one responsible person may need to coordinate. For common or shared areas, GOV.UK identifies the landlord, freeholder or managing agent as the responsible person.
